SWK 204 - Basic Interviewing Skills Semester Offered: Spring Only Basic Interviewing Skills is an introduction to the principles and practices of social work interviewing and counseling. Through the use of role-play and simulated interview sessions, students will develop basic interviewing skills for assessment, planning, and intervention. Throughout the exercises, students will evaluate the outcome of the interactions and the progress of the client. Students review personal ethics while developing a counseling orientation appropriate to working with people of various social and economic backgrounds.
