SOC 101 - Introduction to Sociology (SS)


Introduction to Sociology is the study of human society and social interaction. The course objectives are to understand the basic concepts, origins and theories of sociology; to evaluate the impact of gender and sexual orientation in family life, the workplace and education; to analyze the cultural and social forces which govern human behavior in a diverse society; to describe the positive and negative functions of group conformity; and to apply sociological concepts to everyday life.
